This trombone is a small bore Conn with serial number of 116480, which dates it to c.1910. It has a bore size of about .458 and a bell size of 7 inches. It comes with what was probably the original case and the original mouthpiece and with 440 and 450 tuning slides. The finish is silver plate with extensive engraving and what appears to be gold wash on parts of the engraving as well as on some of the ferrules and inside the bell. The slide works very well, particularly for an instrument this old. This a fine sounding instrument that would work very well in a nineteenth century period instrument group.
