Vintage Mortens Studio Classic Boxer Adult Dog and Puppy, Sitting, Mid-Century. Condition is Used. Shipped with USPS Priority Mail.
Adult and Puppy Boxer dogs, designed and made by the Morten's Studio. Mid-Century pieces, from around the 1930's - 1940's.
Morten's Studio was opened in Chicago by a Swedish immigrant in the early 1930's.
These pieces are made from ceramic enamel layered on a metal skeleton. This is a very unique manufacturing process, but it does result in fairly poor quality pieces. The Morten's Studio figurines are very prone to having the ceramic chip off. Crazing and hairline "fractures" in the glaze and ceramic are also very common. It is extremely hard to find mint condition pieces. They are still very collectable.
The adult dog is about 6.5" tall and 5" long.
The puppy is about 3" tall and 3" long.
Both pieces are in very good condition. The adult dog has a very small chip on his right ear and a crazing line on his left leg. The only imperfection I see on the Puppy is a very small chip on its left paw. Comes from a smoke free home.
